The Cerreto Laghi ski resort lies in the heart of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines . Located just 2 km from the Cerreto Pass and accessible from both Tuscany (Aulla, MS) and Emilia-Romagna (Reggio Emilia), Cerreto Laghi is an ideal destination for beginners and intermediate skiers looking to hone their skills without turning their attention to more famous, and necessarily more distant and expensive, ski resorts. The ski resort is nestled at an altitude of 1355 meters above sea level and boasts being one of the best-equipped and most important resorts in the entire Apennines. It is very popular with residents of the surrounding area, who come primarily from Tuscany, Emilia-Romagna, and Liguria.
Cerreto Laghi has five ski lifts , including three chairlifts, one drag lift, and a magic carpet for the practice slope. There are 10 ski runs, five red, two black, and three blue, covering a total length of 16 km. There's something for everyone, from beginners who can enjoy the practice slope and the lower-altitude slopes, to intermediate skiers who can enjoy the entire area, and even expert skiers who can take advantage of the two black runs on the Nuda, which branch off from the highest point of the resort and end in the village.
The Cerreto Laghi area certainly doesn't stop at Alpine skiing: there are also facilities for cross-country skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts. There are two cross-country ski trails, the first of which is approved for international competitions, located near Lake Pranda and is 7 km long. The second trail, called Maccagnina, is 5 km long.
Snowboarders will find plenty to enjoy at the new snow park, equipped with all the amenities and facilities they need: jumps, rails, and nighttime lighting. A music system will also allow snowboarders to fully immerse themselves in the magical atmosphere this sport offers.
After a day of skiing, you can refresh yourself at one of the three mountain huts in the area. Among the noteworthy services, the Cerreto Laghi Ski School is worth mentioning . Founded in 2004 from the merger of three former schools, it now employs 50 people who can teach you the basics of this sport or help you improve your technique. You can also learn other lesser-known but no less important techniques, such as telemark skiing or freestyle skiing.
