In 'Upper Engadine (Switzerland) to between 1800 and 3303 meters of altitude is the Corvatsch ski area, the ski resort with the highest cable car in the Eastern Alps. The Piz Corvatsch belongs geographically to Bernina massif. It is located about 5 – 10 km south of St. Moritz. Corvatsch starts the ski season as early as November with the opening of the slopes at high altitude thanks also to the glacier which at an altitude of 3000 meters offers good skiing conditions until late spring. The Engadine is one of the Alpine areas among the snowiest from all over Switzerland and all over Europe. In the event of particularly snow-hungry winters, the artificial snow systems come into action, filling the gap and ensuring perfect skiing until the end of the season.
