Levi is one of the most famous and largest ski areas in the Finland, is located in the municipality of Kittilä about 170 km from the Arctic Circle. The city center is located 200 meters above sea level and the ski resorts I reach the top of Monte Levi at 531m above sea level from where 39 km of slopes descend that wind all around the mountain.

The ski runs at Levi are mostly suitable for beginners or intermediate skiers, but there are also three black runs for the more experienced, the longest run being 2,1 km long. The country that gave birth to the snowboard champion Peetu Piiroinen he couldn't help but offer one Snowpark noteworthy, here snowboarders and skiers can try their hand at spectacular stunts thanks to a Superpipe, a half-pipe and 2 snow parks full of facilities for slopstyle.

The Levi ski resort is not only one of the reference points for skiing and snowboarding in Lapland but it is also one of Ghota's favorite destinations for world competitive skiing. Levi is characterized by the harsh polar climate which allows the start of the season already in the first days of November with excellent snow conditions. Thanks to the early snow, Levi has been for some years goal of the Alpine Skiing World Cup which is usually hosted in mid-November. The proximity to the North Pole makes this race one of the most spectacular of the entire white circus where the "Slalom specialists" challenge each other with mid-winter temperatures (even -15 degrees).

However, the conformation of the land (limited altitude) make Levi a different winter destination from its European sisters and more similar to a Canadian winter destination. If for Alpine skiing there are 49km of slopes for the Nordic skiing the domaine skiable ascends to 230km of slopes and over 800km of trails for snowmobiles. In addition to cross-country skiing and snowmobiles, in Levi you can also try your hand at alternative sports and activities, you can venture into the Finnish woods guided by sled dogs or pulled by "Santa's" reindeer, try your hand at fishing on the Ice or simply walking on the snow with snowshoes on your feet.
