St. James is a fraction of the municipality of Roburent, a town located in the southern Monregalese (Piedmont), at about 800 meters above sea level. The name of the town derives from the stream that runs through the valley, the Rio Roburentello. The hamlet of San Giacomo is located about 4 kilometers from the municipality and boasts an ancient village whose center is the church dedicated to San Giacomo.
Sangiacomo di Roburent offers itself to tourists with a ski area that is perfectly integrated with the life of the town which offers all the necessary services to make a stay in the valley pleasant. The district extends over two mountains that rise behind the town, the 1300-metre-high Bric Colmè and the 1600-metre-high Monte Alpet.
The valley is wide and quilted by numerous inhabited centres. Sangiacomo is the highest village, but the roads that from the bottom of the valley, starting from San Michele Mondovì, climb towards its thousand meters, meet Montaldo, Roburent, S. Anna, Corsagliola, Pamparato, Serra.
Here nature has been prodigal because it offers truly extraordinary panoramas and curiosities, but the tourist organization contributes to completing the picture by organizing innumerable sporting, cultural and artistic events, some of which are also internationally recognized.
A very effective and functional location of the 8 ski lifts (2 two-seater chair lifts and 6 ski lifts) means that the large area can be fully exploited for the descents which, in fact, extend over more than 35 kilometers of slopes. A considerable portion of the area (about 10 km of slopes) is equipped with a ski lift
artificial snow, both on demanding slopes and on slopes intended for beginners.
The downhill slopes of Sangiacomo offer a great variety of choices, first of all, the large piston of the Alpet: almost three and a half kilometers of development over more than six hundred meters in altitude.
There are 20 downhill slopes in all, recently expanded, some very technical and loved above all by the more expert, by those who know how to ask snow and skis for maximum performance, others are arranged on gentle and sunny slopes, where children and skiers they spend their winter days more peacefully.

In the village, then, there is the ski school which represents a real springboard for those who enter the world of snow; here are active ski schools which, making use of qualified teachers, prepare and perfect those who entrust themselves to their care.
Ski mountaineering and snowboard mountaineering have one of the first classic winter outings in Sangiacomo: L'Alpet. Traditional outing that dates back to the dawn of skiing and to the eras preceding those of the ski lifts, still retains its appeal and charm intact.
Long lines of ski skiers often wind along the slopes of Bric Colmè to then slowly gain the top of Alpe which, even if from its 1611 m of altitude, offers a 360-degree panorama that few peaks, even much higher, are able to offer. Other classic trips are those that lead to Cima Bausetti (2006 m) through the beautiful Alpe Robert and to Colle della Navonera, on the ridge between Valle Casotto and Valle Corsaglia.

Small but well-connected ski area made up of the Alpet and Bric Colme' mountains with around 35 km of slopes for all tastes. The slopes are beautiful and some are also challenging, in particular the black Gialetto which descends from Monte Alpet to Serra di Pamparato with over 600 m of altitude difference. Illuminated slope with snow park in the town center. Lively place full of clubs. A location worthy of attention from both expert skiers and families with children.
Small but complete area. Excellent slopes, little crowding, competitive prices, no parking difficulties, easy to reach. Advised
An area with absolutely low cost prices. The slopes are beautiful, ranging from technical (dare I say ready for a world cup special) to easy for everyone. The slopes are usually not crowded. For this reason, even if they are short, you can ride them many times. I recommend it…
I moved here a little over 1 year ago and I wouldn't go back.
And skiing is fun, up and down with almost no queues most of the time, crisis-proof ski pass prices (22 Euros per day)…
The first time I went to S. Giacomo I was 18, now I'm 67. It's a splendid place both in summer and winter. There I learned to ski, like my sister and her son; I passed the baton to my two daughters and today my 7 year old granddaughter skis. Do you think that if it wasn't a place like this I would have frequented it for all these years? Any further comment is superfluous. Bear in mind that I love traveling and almost every year I treat myself to a "little trip" both in Italy and abroad.
quiet ski resort with absolutely affordable prices. I skied in Cortina, Madonna di Campiglio, Ponte di Legno, Selva di Val Gardena, the km available are certainly less but not the difficulty of the slopes. Slopes are available for all ability levels –
5 stars definitely. also for the excellent value for money.
touristically speaking, you can find a bit of everything, we can't do great things but we do our best to make our tourists' holidays happy. We won't have very high mountains but the area is truly beautiful both in winter and in summer.
In my family we are the fourth generation to frequent the area and ski on its slopes. A suitable place for grandparents and grandchildren, the proximity to the Ligurian coast and to Genoa and Savona in particular make it the right place to ski even on a day with little expense and few people...
The slopes are suitable for everyone and the view you can enjoy from Mount Alpet is priceless!
ideal for skiing with the family, beautiful slopes, few queues, cheap prices.
In short, AWESOME place!!!
Fantastic slopes, there is something for all tastes and in the summer, beautiful trails, an underrated town anyway for skiing, I recommend it to everyone, young and old, there is also a snow park for the kids!!!
San Giacomo is a beautiful place with beautiful ridges, the prices for skiing are very low, there is very little queue. There are people in the town but there is no overcrowding, the garden path is illuminated. In summer it is equally beautiful with many paths with cutting-edge gardens and many holidaymakers. Suitable for all families, children etc. Written under dictation by my son PIETRO
I have been going on holiday to Serra di Pamparato for exactly 32 years, which is 3 km from San Giacomo, both in summer and winter, in spring and autumn, every time I can that is my destination. I learned to ski in San Giacomo, like all my peers, I love those slopes, I know every corner of them, and what's more they are the most difficult in the area, they have a special, adrenaline-filled flavour. Even in summer, however, you can breathe a special air, and you can go on splendid trips, thanks also to the excellent organization of recent years, Mount Alpet is fabulous in any season because it offers a view of all the surrounding mountains, a real spectacle of nature. However it is definitely worth trying and experiencing.
if you are lucky enough to learn to ski in SanGiacomo, you can ski anywhere!
Beautiful slopes, well maintained, all with a good slope and sufficiently safe
Ah, if we were at 2000 meters!
However, a truly beautiful place...in all seasons!
I was there before Christmas 2012 with my fleas, and it was wonderful, being a beginner
Hi everyone, I did the skiing week in the San Giacomo area together with my girlfriend, overall we had a good time, but there are many things to improve, many things that are fantastic... I'll start with the one to improve: Ski lifts... too much old, artificial snow I have seen very few cannons for a place so low you have to increase them if you risk not skiing in certain periods, and there is really no après-ski in the town apart from the restaurants and a few bars there is nothing!!! Fantastic things: First of all, the place is beautiful, the people are really courteous and kind!!! The shopkeepers are fabulous… and they give a lot of good things from the place… the raschera and the ham… so good!!! Greetings
