The winter sports area SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental, located in Tyrol, is the largest of all those present in Austria and is located at an altitude between 620 and 1.869 m. Every year it attracts many snow-loving visitors, who choose it to spend a weekend or a week White week. The area is open from December to April.
There are various locations nearby, not particularly distant and easily reachable. For example, nearby are Westendorf, Hopfgarten im Brixental, Brixen im Thale and Going am Wilden Kaiser. There are as many as 90 modern heated ski lifts, including cable cars and ski lifts, and 270 km of slopes, divided into 114 km more suitable for beginners and for those starting from an intermediate level, 120 km of medium slopes and 36 km of black slopes.

La steeper slope it is, without a doubt, the Alpseitis, 1,5 km long, with a height difference of 500 m. Its 80% gradient is a warning bell for the less experienced, who should avoid pushing their luck if not adequately prepared for its difficulty. Those who feel ready to face the great descent, however, can start from the Choralpe, reaching the intermediate station.
A Westendorf, on the contrary, there are many perfect slopes for those who want learn to ski. There is also a children's ski school here, so it is the most recommended ski area for the whole family. The same applies to Söll, where the Soll Phillip Saville school is located.
What to do for those who don't ski
Allo SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser fun is guaranteed even for non-skiers. In fact, it is possible to do other activities, such as cross country, snowboard, hiking and ski mountaineering. For this last sporting discipline, the most recommended area is SkiWelt Ellmau, on the blue valley track: travelers who love holidays in the snow however, they will have to pay attention to the program of the ski area, as the ski mountaineering activities they are not always allowed.
As for excursions, however, you have to move to SkiWelt Söll; excursions are permitted both during the day and at night and both uphill and downhill routes they are well signposted. The first path is the one that starts from Hexenwasser mountain station, while the second can be reached both from Hexenwasser and from Keat Almen.
Finally, an activity especially suitable for families and those who don't have much experience with skiing is sledding. We must head there SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental, where there are three toboggan runs, including that of Astberg in Ellmau/Going. In total, there are 11 kilometers available to do this type of activity. You can go sledding during the day but also at night, as the slopes are well signposted and lit. There are no booking problems, as the sleds must be rented directly on site.
