Discovering Schlick in winter

Skiing at Schlick 2000
A snow holiday at Schlick 2000 will brighten the days of those who have a passion above all for skiing: they are in fact present here 23 slopes extended for 25 km between 1000 m. and 2240 m. high, without forgetting 1,5 km of ski routes. The condition of the slopes in Schlick's cold winter is almost perfect, with a snowfall equal to 90%, also thanks to the efficient artificial systems used here.
On the Schlick 2000 plateau it is possible to ski on blue, red and black slopes, therefore suitable for both beginners and more expert skiers: there is also what is considered the longest slope in the ski resort which, in 2,6 km, connects the Froneben mountain station in Fulpmes located further downstream.
The Schlick 2000 slopes are served by CD & Zirmachbahn, a 6-seater chairlift complete with a protective dome and heated seats, thanks to which it takes you from 3 m in just 1910 minutes. high at 2240 m. in height. Then there are 11 cable cars, including the Kreuzjoch reachable by the Stubai ski bus (which runs between Mutterberg, Schönberg and Schlick 2000) and the Galtbergbahn, inaugurated in 2023: in the latter case it is the first 10-seater cable car in the Stubai Valley, with low energy consumption.
La cable car instead it allows you to start from the village of Fulpmes and reach 2130 m. high, from which an easy path starts that leads to a cross at the summit and the adjacent one Stubaiblick viewing platform, from which you can enjoy a magnificent panorama of the Zillertal, the Wilder Kaiser and even the elegant city of Innsbruck.
The Schlick 2000 ski resort is enjoyable for families even with small children, thanks to the presence of a baby sitting area and a ski center Big Family in the area of Fulpmes, where little skiers can take their first steps in skiing. There is also an area at the Froneben middle station children's land a Big Ron, complete with snow carousels and child-friendly conveyor belts.
A little curiosity about Schlick 2000 concerns the innovative Skiline system, adopted for the first time in this Stubaital ski resort: it essentially serves to monitor the difference in altitude faced by the skier during the day and everything is recorded on the purchased ski pass.
Schlick for non-skiers
The Schlick 2000 ski resort is suitable not only for those who ski, but also for those who love to enjoy a holiday in the snow while also trying their hand at other sports, such as snowboard and freeride: in this regard, lovers of these activities can reach the Stubai Park Schlick 2000, where the Sennjoch slope and above all the Free Nature Park are also located. The latter is a natural park which is a paradise for snowboarders, with rails, jumps, acrobatics, kikers and the inevitable halfpipe.
There is no shortage of routes to the freeride (there are 3) and a 3,5 km high-altitude circular route on the Schlickeralm dedicated to cross country: it is located at 1600 m. high, in the shadow of Mount Kalköggel and winds through spruce and larch forests until it reaches the Schlickerboden.
The cross-country ski trail can be reached via the Kreuzjoch cable car, which reaches the Froneben intermediate station.
On Mount Krenzjoch there are also two launch points which, thanks to the favorable thermals even in mid-winter, allow you to fly over the snow-covered landscape of Schlick in hang glider or paragliding.
For the more romantic, there is no lack toboggan run 3 km long, also illuminated in the evening every Wednesday in December, depending on the weather conditions: it starts from the intermediate station of Froneben and arrives in the valley in a spectacular setting, in a hushed atmosphere that makes the snow holiday a Truly unforgettable schlick.
Those who chose Fulpmes as a point of support, they can dedicate a couple of hours to exploring this village in the Stubaital, starting from the baroque church of San Vito, the nearby Kranerhaus with its decorated windows and the Blacksmith Museum located in the ancient Rieldhaus. The latter, through an exhibition of tools and utensils, shows the history of Fulmes between the XNUMXth and XNUMXth centuries, when the extraction and processing of iron represented the basis of the local economy.
Holidays in Schlick

The presence of 23 slopes certainly makes this location suitable for those who love skiing, but there are many winter sports to practice, even if you are a beginner.
Children at Schlick are then looked after with special attention, thanks to the areas dedicated to them both in the heart of Schlick 2000 and in the town of Fulpmes. Those who choose the month of December to enjoy the snow at this ski resort will be able to admire the idyllic atmosphere of the place, with the Advent period finding expression in the Fulpmes nativity scene exhibition or in the show Ski Night Show.
This event, which will liven up Schlick until mid-March, lights up the resort with fire and LED light shows, as well as coordinated demonstrations by snowboard and ski instructors from the Schlick 2000 schools, to the jubilation of spectators.
