Why choose the Dolomites to spend a weekend or a White week able to find the right compromise between relaxation and the desire to venture into nature, between recent services and infrastructures, without forgetting the needs of the little ones?

Winter sports enthusiasts have at their disposal 60 km of slopes downhill of different length and difficulty, 1 snowpark with three lines and 3 school slopes where you can take your first steps on skis; finally, there are 37 km of cross-country ski loops and many itineraries for snowshoeing and ski mountaineering.

Variegated and always changing, the winter season opens the ball for all those who are willing to descend proactively on the snow, without fearing the mountainous rock that soars all around.

Not only skiing – what to do instead?

The mountain is not just skiing: there are many nature lovers who opt for a high-altitude destination so as to give a clean break to the city routine that too often leaves no room for a period of relaxation, in contact with the magnificence of our land .

The locality offers valid alternatives – for both adults and children – with which to entertain even the souls less inclined to the more frenetic and adrenaline-pumping descents on the snow.

Among the many alternatives that can make a weekend out of the Dolomites unique, we mention:

  • for the little ones, a visit to the ski instructors of Falcaland, Kids Paradise and Lusialand cannot be missed, where children are taught the importance of respecting nature, learning about winter sports and taking care of the safety aspect first to put the boards on the feet. Games suitable for all age groups cannot be missing: inflatable structures, animation, entertainment in the snow and heated rooms;
  • adults, on the other hand, can enjoy themselves like never before at the Flora Alpina Refuge, reachable via a well-maintained road and easy to navigate even in winter. The reason? Here is it snowtubing: a total of two very wide slopes about 100 meters long where it is possible to launch yourself with rubber dinghies that can be specially rented for an unforgettable adrenaline-pumping ride aboard a completely innovative vehicle. The panorama is magnificent and the pastime is worth a visit if only for the perspective it offers on the surrounding mountains;
  • lovers of hiking and snowshoeing can also take advantage of the winter itinerary to the beautiful basin of Fuciade. From here, for the more romantic, it is possible to rent a carriage equipped with impressive horses to book a truly unique trip, which will remain indelibly impressed in the hearts of young and old.

Ski slopes

Il San Pellegrino pass it is a prime destination. For sports lovers we can do nothing but remember the sunny Laresei (Falcade), wide and never too crowded, which offers a spectacular panorama of Monte Mulaz and the Pale di San Martino;

moreover, there is also the charming and romantic Innamorati slope, which winds for 11 km from the top of Col Margherita (2514 m) to the village of Falcade (1100 m).

The latter is recommended for those who love slow and rhythmic skiing, in absolute relaxation, perhaps to stop on the edge of the slope and enjoy the panorama and the food and wine proposals of the various refuges located there.

Where to stay

If you want a hotel close to the ski slopes, Passo San Pellegrino is certainly the preferable destination, if you want to have services, a restaurant and a bit of life close at hand after a day on the slopes, then the best destination is Falcade.

Passo San Pellegrino is in fact a mountain pass and cannot count on a real village, this makes it a somewhat "boring" place for those who want to spend an evening outside the hotel, however, speaking of the landscape, it is a real paradise, here are the best views, however it is worth remembering that it is located at almost 2000 meters and temperatures often drop below -10 degrees.

Falcade, on the other hand, is a typical mountain village, located at an average altitude, however, it offers the necessary services and various places where you can dine and have fun in the evening. In the winter period it is the seat of numerous folklore events that color the holiday even more.
