The ski area of Livigno is divided into 2 macro ski areas, Mottolino and Carosello 3000, these two stations compete for the 2 mountain slopes of the valley and manage their respective skiable domains separately. Despite the competition and the rivalry between there is also an excellent relationship of collaboration which provides for a single ski pass in order to access all the slopes without distinction.
Among the various descents we find the Polvere slope, characterized by a series of boardercross paths, a real attraction for those who have such a mastery of skiing that they can face dips, parabolic curves and steep slopes; and what about the Natural Pipe, a natural depression that allows all freestylers and snowboard enthusiasts to perform exciting stunts.
30 km of slopes are dedicated to Nordic skiing constantly beaten and kissed by the sun. Livigno is also equipped with an important snowpark, organized according to different lines based on difficulty, from S for beginners to XL for great enthusiasts and experts; also worth mentioning is the jibbing area, equipped with dozens of structures including boxes, walls, banks, rails.

Siberian climate and always abundant snow
Livigno is known by all as “little Tibet” a definition that compares it to the high mountains of the Himalayas where snow and frost are a constant. This area of Alta Valtellina is famous for being one of the coldest in all of Italy, the high altitude and its particular geographical position expose it to icy currents that rage throughout the winter season bringing the mercury column to mark even the -30 degrees. Siberian temperatures go hand in hand with the abundant snowfall which ensure always fresh snow throughout the winter so as to extend the ski season until May 1st.

We are not talking about tax evasion but about a law of the Italian State which has made this border town, free from national taxation. The products here cost much less than in other winter destinations because they are tax-free.
