In the mountain community of Valchiavenna, Madesimo is a major ski resort offering over 60 km of slopes for all levels of difficulty. The resort is located at 1500 meters above sea level and reaches almost 3000 meters. Thanks to its altitude and geographic exposure, Madesimo is one of the snowiest ski resorts in Italy , offering perfectly groomed slopes throughout the winter.
Safety and technology are the watchwords in Madesimo: a modern artificial snow system ensures that alpine sports can be enjoyed from November to April on two-thirds of the trails; Furthermore, there is an underground funicular (the most modern in Europe) for rapid travel around the resort, climbing from 1071 to 1736 meters in just seven minutes: the Sky Express , which alone is a tourist attraction; furthermore, in recent years, various chairlifts and ski lifts have been installed to make travel easier.
In the Valchiavenna Madesimo-Campodolcino ski area, the slopes, facilities, and ski lifts are constantly monitored to ensure complete safety, and the trails have been expanded year after year to allow for easier and safer descents.

Undoubtedly the most popular is the "Gully" with a length that is close to 3km (2,7km) it offers an important slope with a difference in height of 940 meters, from 2880m of Pizzo Groppera up to 1940m of Pian dei Larici. The track Montalto FIS, on the other hand, is a red generally reserved for ski club competitions and training; among others, however, we find Marcadello, Camosci, Vanoni.
The Italian Alpine Ski National Team also trains on these slopes, especially in the first winter months thanks to the good snow conditions that are difficult to find elsewhere.

Cross-country skiing can be practiced in Montespluga, Campodolcino, Motta and Mottala for a Nordic ski centre with a total of 25km of trails.

Snowpark Madesimo
For those who practice snowboarding there is the Made Park, is located at an altitude of 1800 meters and is served by the “Larici” 8-seater gondola lift and the “Montalto” four-seater chairlift, both departing from the town of Madesimo.
For riders there are 3 lines available, easy, medium and difficult with different structures both in snow and on dirt.
