Described by many as a ski paradise in the heart of nature, this ski resort stands out for being less known and less crowded than others, an ideal for those who don't like the frenzy and super crowded slopes and prefers a calm place where they can have fun in serenity.
For a long time the locality of Soldiers remained unknown to most: the inhabitants were mostly miners and farmers. Tourism began to spread in 1804, with the first ascent of Ortles (3905m). Today Solda is one of the many ski destinations in theSouth Tyrol but unlike the other stations, here the landscape has remained unchanged and respect for nature remains one of the prerogatives of the locals.
Set among the symbols of the Alps such as the Ortler and the Cevedale, Solda offers slopes with natural and always abundant snow. In the heart of winter the perturbations unload "loads" of snow that submerge the ski pole. This is why Solda all'Ortles is one of the favorite destinations for freeride lovers and powder here easy to find thanks to the cold temperatures.

Ski-mountaineering routes are endless and there are several panoramic points that can be reached with seal skins, among the most important is certainly the climb to Cima Solda (3376m); A ski tour by about 3 and a half hours with almost 800 meters in altitude, it is a demanding itinerary but able to amply repay the efforts thanks to a spectacular panorama of the Alps and the Cevedale glacier.
Those who don't have the experience to tackle climbs of this level can rely on local guides who, in collaboration with the tourist consortium, organize guided excursions to face the slopes in safety.

Not only skiing but also lots of fun in the snow with trails dedicated to woodland animals, entertainment, quizzes and many activities that keep children entertained in complete safety.

Soldiers

Solda is a fraction of the municipality of Stelvio, located in Val Venosta in the province of Bolzano. The town is located 1906 meters above sea level and lies at the foot of the Ortles-Cevedale mountain range. The name of Solda has a mysterious origin, but it seems to derive from a Celtic expression that meant "little water" because [...]

  • I discovered Solda in 2009 and since then I constantly feel the need to return, several times a year, despite the 500 km (round trip) distance... I can hardly find the words to describe Solda... going up those hairpin bends, it seems to me to arrive in Paradise, Solda for me is of a unique, enchanting beauty, thanks also to the presence of King Ortles!
